Day 20 of 40 Days of Prayer, Fasting & Consecration- Repentance  “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.” Proverbs 28:13

Exodus 20:12 "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you.” Honor and dishonor, one is a command the other is a sin.  God desires to be honored and honor starts at home.   Our scripture reading today speaks of us honoring our parents, which is a command from God, not a suggestion.  Gods commands come with rewards when they are followed and recompense (consequences) when they are not.  Deuteronomy 28, tells us clearly what God is commanding us to do in verses 1 “Now it shall be, if you diligently listen to and obey the voice of the LORD your God, being careful to do all of His commandments which I am commanding you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.” Deuteronomy‬ ‭28:1‬ ‭AMP‬‬ The scripture further lays out Gods plan of administration for our obedience.          Romans 13:1-2 “  Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.” Today as we are walking this journey of submission to the will, authority and majesty of God we must remember that nothing and no one is greater than God.   Apostle Paul reminds us that God created government and has given man the ability to rule over the land,  he has also given them the ability to have positions of authority in every aspect of life.  There are different levels to this authority but we all have it. God has given us the ability to have “Authority” not to “Lord” over others as some totalitarian.   Romans 12:1-2 "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." James 4:7-8 “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. That when we were first saved we could repent and he would hear our prayers immediately. Now that we are born again(being converted daily by Holy Spirit) we must be mindful how we approach the presence of God.  When we go before the presence of the Lord, we must go with reverential fear and trembling, understanding we have been given a privilege through the blood of Christ to even communicate with the Father and to be blessed by his Holy presence. God our, Creator is the Master potter, Master architect, creator of all things living. Everything that exist is because it was in the mind of God before hand.   Romans 8:7 “Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.” The Mind has it’s good intentions but those intentions are purely sensual and filled with lust. It’s about Me, Myself and I. What I need and what I desire that is at the forefront of our Minds.  What I want to do! How I feel? Who I like or love? Where I want to Go! What I Need!
