Day 7 of 49 Days of Prayer- Submit to the Process!
Romans 13:1-2
“ Let every soul be subject to the governing
authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and
the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever
resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will
bring judgment on themselves.”
Today as we are walking this journey of submission to the will, authority and majesty of God we must remember that nothing and no one is greater than God.
Apostle Paul reminds us that God created government and has given man the ability to rule over the land, he has also given them the ability to have positions of authority in every aspect of life. There are different levels to this authority but we all have it. God has given us the ability to have “Authority” not to “Lord” over others as some totalitarian. No, we are to manage, supervise, train, teach, guide and empower others to “be” who they were called to be through our submission to God and their submission to Gods authority in us. See, when people know you are fully submitted to the Lord, they don’t mind following you, learning from you, submitting to you. Apostle Paul said it best, “ follow me as I follow Christ.”1 Cor. 11:1
We are to imitate Christ’s life, Character, worship, forgiveness, love and sacrifice, to be the example as leaders that our Children, employees, co-workers, and the like, need to see. How else can they learn to grow in grace? Jesus disciples learned by first watching and then by doing because of the example before them. Remember we talked about, submitting to be transformed? That transformation is not just for you, but for those who will be influenced and impacted by you? Jesus himself had to be transformed and his transformation happened over a course of 40 days in a dry desert. He had to:
1. Submit to Holy Spirit to go into the wilderness.
2. Trust the Father in the midst of his wilderness.
3. Submit to the process in the midst of what could’ve killed him literally but only killed the flesh.
4. Believe the lessons he learned in the wilderness about the Character of God and who Jesus himself was created to be.
5. Therefore enduring the temptation of the enemy upon his completion of his 40 days( without food / water) where he exited hungry but fully submitted to God, so he had the power to resist the devil and so the devil fled until another opportunity.
Whether you know it or not, we go through the same process and this is why we must submit to God and allow those he had given authority to and are godly, to lead, teach and instruct us by submitting to the leadership and authority of Christ inside them.
The “Church” is Gods government and authority, it is the greatest source of Power in the earth, called You. God did not make a mistake putting His spirit in you, calling you out of darkness, no, you are right on track for your comeback to realign with God. Just submit and refuse to resist the authority of God and of those who are submitted to God, that have authority to lead and teach you. This is your time to Learn from them, to grow and mature, so do not resist him.
Prayer:Father in the mighty name of Jesus, I repent from resisting your authority and that of those whom you have given your authority to. I choose to now submit and place myself humbly before your feet and to sit at the footstool of those you have given me the privilege to learn from. I need to become who you have called me to be, regardless of the process. I must endure so that someone else may follow the example Christ has set for me in Jesus mighty name amen.
